Free Telephone (FTRI) Program

 

Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI)

offers a variety of specialized phones

FREE to qualified applicants

 

Eligibility is open to Florida residents who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf/blind, or speech impaired. To receive specialized telephone equipment, you must provide proof of eligibility.   Call 850-595-5566  (Voice or TDD) to speak to Danny Broxson for the Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI) Program assistance.

FTRI specialized telephone equipment is available at no cost. You must also provide proof of residency with one of the following:

  • Florida Driver’s License
  • Florida Voter Registration Card
  • Florida Identification Card
  • Florida Vehicle Registration
  • Florida Medicaid Card
  • Letter from Social Security with your name and Florida address

Position:

  •  Specialized Telephone Distribution/Demonstration Specialist

Description of Duties:

  • Drive personal vehicle in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties to deliver specialized telephones to people who are hard of hearing.
  • Give presentations at senior citizen centers, nursing homes, churches, schools, doctor offices, and community events.
  • Demonstrate different types of specialized telephones.
  • Keep inventory of phones on your laptop computer. You must complete paperwork and inventory phones weekly.

Information about Position:

  • This is a minimum wage + commission position for two weeks and commission only after two weeks.
    • NOTE:  Employees have made $175.00 bi-weekly and employees have made $1,300.00 bi-weekly week. The more you work the more you get paid.
  • After the two week training period, you set your hours and number of days you work.
